RuneScape is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released in January 2001 by Andrew and Paul Gower. It is a graphical browser game implemented on the client-side in Java, and incorporates 3D rendering. The game has approximately 10 million active accounts, and over 130 million registered accounts, and is recognised by the Guinness World Records as the world's most popular free MMORPG. As you'll no doubt know, this weekend we held the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition. The idea was simple: kill as many opposing players in Castle Wars without dying. We were keeping track of the scores, so that the player with the most kills could be crowned the weekend's champion of Castle Wars. As if that weren't prize enough, the winner also wins 12 months of RuneScape membership and some exclusive signed/framed Castle Wars concept artwork!
It's now Monday and the mayhem has subsided, and from the dust rises the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition winner...
GUNZ_BOSS!
GUNZ_BOSS didn't hold back and managed to score a whopping 192 kills without dying! Impressive stuff indeed and I'm sure you'll all agree a worthy winner of our first kill streak competition.
This was the first event of its kind and we'd like to thank everybody for taking part and offering their feedback throughout the running of the competition. Once again, congratulations to GUNZ_BOSS and thanks for taking part! Until next time...

This week sees the introduction of ancient effigies to the potential loot you can receive when defeating the various creatures encountered during your adventures. Players taking on the challenges of combating stronger enemies will be more likely to discover an ancient effigy once their foe has fallen before them.
These ancient effigies seemingly possess a will of their own and desire knowledge from the adventurers who hold them. Initially, an effigy will require you to have level 91 in one of two skills (chosen randomly) to investigate it, from which you will receive healthy amounts of experience in the skill you choose. As effigies absorb more and more of your knowledge, they will require ever higher levels in other skills – level 93, then level 95, and, finally, level 97. If you can supply the ancient effigy with all the knowledge it seeks, you may discover something of the secrets it holds...
Less experienced adventurers who luckily manage to obtain an ancient effigy, but who don't have the skill levels to supply it with the knowledge it seeks, can always ask for a helping hand through the Assist System (the person who assists will earn the XP, but you may still end up with something for your troubles at the end). Alternatively, if you lack both experience and patience, and would prefer more instant gratification, Historian Minas at Varrock Museum will be more than happy to take an effigy off your hands in exchange for a small reward.

Summary:
Where to get ancient effigies:
Ancient effigies are rare drops from a wide variety of creatures...

Requirements to investigate ancient effigies:
Levels 91+ in various non-combat skills (which skills may vary for each effigy found).

As the project goes from the design stage into implementation, this article talks about the goals of this unusual project, and the curious challenge of coming up with a clear design for something without limiting what it can do.

There’s a slightly different update on the cards for the not-too-distant future. It won’t suit all of you, but, then, juggling all the different things RuneScape players like to do is always our biggest challenge. What it will do is make some little differences here and there, with new features that you can use in several ways that we’ve thought of...and hopefully a few we haven’t.

We know that to some of you, RuneScape is home to various pastimes that we didn’t really plan for you. Besides all of the quest, minigames and other features that the team has worked hard on over the years, Gielinor has plenty of room for you to organise scavenger hunts, races and all kinds of other activities, and we’ve seen that some of you like to do just that. Now, we’ve decided to set aside some time for a small update aimed at the players who come up with those activities.

I was asked to come up with some items to help out, some little trinkets for the freestyle gamers among you. It’s an interesting challenge: if this stuff is all about the things we didn’t design, how can I deliberately set out to develop it? If I over-design these objects they’ll be really good for whatever I had in mind, but give you much less freedom. That would completely ruin the idea of helping you with the gameplay that you want to make.

With that in mind I’m working on a range of simple objects, each of which does something a little useful. Most of the objects are pretty simple, some a bit more complicated, but all are versatile. Hopefully, you’ll look at each item and think: “I know what I could do with that!” Just as people in the real world make dice and don’t worry about what games people will use them for, we can provide some helpful tools for you to use however you want.

We thought long and hard about what to include, seeking suggestions from fan sites, the forums and Jagex staff. We had many great suggestions - far more than we could ever use - so we picked out a selection that were particularly suitable. The number of objects we’re going ahead with is relatively small, but the intention is that each of them has plenty of potential there for all kinds of things you might think of.
As you might have guessed, there will be dice; I’m a big fan of dice. You can keep the rolls to yourself, or you can send them to your clan and everyone will know the result was genuine. Other items will help you start races fairly, run votes of clan members and check that nobody is cheating at collection and scavenging games.

Involving clans and keeping things fair are two of the main things I’m keeping in mind while developing this project. We want these tools to be good for groups, and the best way we can do that is through the Clan Chat system. That way, the game remains yours and you can invite the people you’d like to play with. Fairness is important because once you have come up with rules for your events, I want you to have ways of knowing that they are being followed.

All of these player-driven activities are part of emergent gameplay which games developers refer to. It’s a broad and interesting topic and I encourage you to click on the Web if you are interested.

The-History-of-the-Discovery-of-the-Runes

Welcome to the home of knowledge and wisdom. The records of the histories of the great nations of RuneScape are kept in this labruary. the diaries of bold explorers, and fantastical tales spun in ages past. Please, take some time to peruse the passage and I'm sure you will find some tome of interest to you.
Below you will find a list of those books restored or in suitable condition to be read by any passing reader. Some are verifiably accurate histories of RuneScape, others are mythologies relating to true people and events whose accuracy cannot be guaranteed, but in the absence of other source material I have included for historical interest.
The power of the runestones is well known to us now, and even children are taught a very basic understanding of the workings of magic and their advantages in defending our walls. This memoir shows that this was not always the case, and that in a mere few centuries our understanding has increased... but so have the dangers of those who might misuse them.

His question seemed simple enough, yet the old man looked at me with a strange mixture of pity and contempt. I had asked him where the runes that now shaped our daily lives had come from. I waited patiently for his answer, apparently ignoring the look upon his face, for I was sure that his previous eloquence and his tales from before mankind meant that he favoured me. Eventually, with a jarring cough, he began to speak to me of the runes which had allowed man to use the Arts Of Magick to assist him.

"As my time on this plane draws to an end, the treachery of the evil followers of Zamorak still burns within my heart and mind, as I know that such knowledge as those like me have gained will forever be lost to the ages. I have not much time, yet must tell what I know concerning the runes and the dangers that their treachery hath brought upon our fair world.

"I am one of the few left alive who remember the time before we had the runes; when man fought man for food; when there were no havens from the creatures that seek to destroy us as a race. Yes, I remember still the times before men and dwarves considered each other allies, and only the bravest of heroes would venture beneath the ground - lest he fall foul of the wrath of the dwarves who had claimed that as their own.

"I remember the names of the kingdoms before they were kingdoms, of the men who ruled before there were kings. I remember how the discovery healed old wounds between families, made mankind safe in this world for the first time in our memories, and made even the humblest of men able to walk with a king as an equal... Yes, I remember..."

I waited some small amount of time after these words, for I did not wish to impose upon the old man too much, for we had talked at this inn for a long time of many things - which I have recounted to you in this humble tome, dear reader - but I was obliged to hurry the old man, for it had been a long night already, and I was afraid for his health as he coughed heavily, and he seemed lost in his thoughts.

I purchased another mug of ale from the innkeeper, and prompted the old man for an answer to my original query.

"An answer you want is it, boy? And you have fresh ale? Well, we will see... but you must know that sometimes a simple question gets not a simple answer...

"I remember my father, a smith of the highest standing, first telling me as a boy that a man from the north had madest a discovery of... well, there are some secrets I fear I must take to my grave in case they fall into the wrong hands. Yet I will say this; this man of the north had found something of great importance that required a great deal of study, and had bought some paltry supplies such as hammers and chisels from my father, which is how he knew of it.

"Even as a young boy I had an interest in this world in which we dwell, and this discovery surprised me. That night I stole away from my parents' home in the land we now call Misthalin so that I might join this man in examining his findings. What had he found? Patience, boy, I am coming to that - but I cannot reveal too much, for evil walks this land, and if it knew all of the secrets which had been discovered all of man would suffer in ways you cannot imagine... let us just say, that this man from the north had discovered Magick.

"I was not the only one who had come to see his discovery. A group of people, perhaps two score in number from all over this realm, and of all ages and tribes had heard similar rumours. They were as consumed by curiosity as I and had come to pledge themselves to exposing the secrets of this discovery. I cannot describe to you the awe and wonder we all felt when first the man from the north demonstrated the power he had discovered... To strike a foe with a mighty gust of wind at will! This feat is almost commonplace nowadays, and seen in brawls all over the lands, but back then... it was as though we had gained the power of a god!

"And as we trained and studied, our powers grew stronger and more unbelievable... I saw men moving objects with just the power of their mind, others turning useless items into the purest gold!

"But these skills and powers were not the greatest discovery that we made. It was discovered that we could take these powers and magicks, and bind them into solid objects which we called rune stones, for each had been marked with the rune symbol of the Magick which we had bound into it.

"These stones could then be given to someone who had not studied nor trained with our group - and the Magickal energies bound within them could be released at will. We all agreed that the discovery, and the Magicks it had allowed us, and our ability to store these magicks in compressed form as stones, required much investigation, far more investigation than was possible with just the small group that we were... so we vowed to all return to our homelands and spread the message of our discoveries, so that we could gain more followers to assist us in our research.

"When I returned home, my parents scolded me for my thoughtlessness and selfishness in leaving them with not a word of explanation - yet the looks on their faces when I showed them the powers I had achieved through my studies! When I smelted some of my father's ore in my hand without the need of his furnace, he almost collapsed with wonderment, for it was then that he saw what I could see when I had left home; that this discovery was the future of our people on this world.

"Only my mother gave me words of caution, which I did not understand then in my foolish youth; that there was danger in trying to match the gods, for the gods are jealous and do not want mere mortals having powers such as they possess... Many times since then I have thought on her words and wished I had understood them as I do now."
Again the old man's story seemed to be unfinished, and again he seemed to be waiting for some hidden signal to proceed. Having become used to his ways in the hours I had spent with him, I rose to fetch him more ale, but he snapped out of his reverie with a wave of his hand.

"No, boy, I need no more ale. I was contented for this night, and all the ale cannot wipe away the memories of treachery and bloodshed that I have,.Just indulge an old man ‘s memories of loved ones long dead for a moment, and I shall return to my tale.

A few weeks ago, we accidentally released a version of the top level interface that had a test option on the run button called ‘Rest’. Oops! Now the cat is out of the bag, we might as well tell you about this project. When I got the original rest concept brief it had two parts:

1. Create a ‘rest’ function that the player can use anywhere that will restore run energy more quickly than normal.
2. Create benches that would allow players to sit on and restore run energy even more rapidly.

In planning what was going to be required, I quickly came to the conclusion that benches were not the way to go. We still encounter problems creating animations that work well in software mode for when players are sitting on furniture. Also, the technique to do this would have meant only one player could sit on a bench at a time. From a gameplay point of view this would have been a problem - the last thing I want is for players to have to queue for rest spots.

So I had to come up with another idea. I toyed with cushions and small glades and the like, but they all felt a bit weak. There needed to be a reason why one spot would be better for resting than anywhere else. Mod Ash suggested that using NPCs rather than locations might be a better approach, and from that the idea of buskers came to mind. People tend to gather round buskers in real life, so the rest spots wouldn't look incongruous, and I thought they would add some extra flavour to the more well-populated areas where these are going to be placed.

Having cleared this idea change with Mod Mark and Andrew I talked to the Graphics team. These musicians were to be scattered all over the map, so had to stand out enough for them to be easily spotted, but also fit in with the theme of the area they’re in. Mod Zephyri came up with some lovely concept images of bards. They were dressed brightly, but in a renaissance style that fits in nicely with most city environments. They looked great, so Mod Brass, Mod Woody and some others got to work creating models and animations for them

We looked separately at the more isolated areas where we wanted to put musicians. A lute- playing bard may look great in Falador, but would look pretty silly in Isafdar or Mort Myre, so Graphics created custom NPCs for these places. I especially enjoyed working on these as we had to come up with different ideas for why they were there. Since they were mostly embedded in higher level areas, the need for them to explain their functionality was lessened, so I could have a little fun adding flavour to them.

Since we’d decided on musicians, we needed some music for them to play. I wanted the music to be a little different than most music in the game, as these were individual musicians playing a ditty, not an epic soundtrack. The audio guys created some lovely simple pieces of music for the musicians - mostly stripped down version of the local themes. I even specifically asked for one of the songs to be really bad, which Mod Bond did really well! The next set of problems lay with visual feedback: how to tell the player that they were resting. I wasn't sure of the best way to do this initially, so I tried out several methods - head icons, glowing animation effects that pulsed under the player - but after some tests, it became clear to us that these were a bit too intrusive, so I went for changing the run button icon on the top level interface, with a little glowing effect to draw the eye. Our balancer is working on tweaking the update to make sure that the restore rates are useful,, and full QA, editing and translation are still to come, but hopefully you’ll be able to rest soon. The last thing to say today is “Don’t forget to have a rest every now and again!”

Runescape-Summoning-and-Hairstyles-RSleveling-News

This week's update cares about Summoning and hairstyles: better usability, more pets and the return of the fringe .The wish list of improvements is becoming longer and longer, but for now there are the following improvements: Firstly, the pet limit is raised so that you can have twice as many pets as before. This seemingly simple change led to a major background change, which will improve the stability of the code so you will experience fewer bugs in future. Secondly, you don’t need to wait until a familiar has disappeared to use the next pouch; now you click a handy button in the Summoning interface to replenish your familiar’s timer to 100% when it has dropped below two and a half minutes. So, if you use beasts of burden to help carry things around, you can now use this button to keep them going, as long as you have another pouch of the same type in your inventory. Additionally, we have made it much more straightforward to trade in your pouches and scrolls with Bogrog, the ogre in Gu’Tanoth.

Comments and suggestions for new hairstyles from players on the forums are usually put forward. In particular, we read players' complaints that there was once a female hairstyle with a fringe that got removed. We searched and searched, but could not find any indication that this was ever the case, so we scratched our heads for a while...and then created one! Enjoy your fringes, and perhaps you might like to pay a visit to Party Pete to try out a special new hairstyle designed for partying. Lilies of the valley have also blossomed around RuneScape. These fragrant spring flowers will stay until the next game update to celebrate the start of May.

Last but not least, we would like to point you towards a new link in the quest journals. The QuestHelp system is now accessible directly from your quest journal, and you don’t even need to log into the website to access either a hint or a spoiler for a quest.

This set of updates maybe isn’t as large as you have expected, there was some problems with the project which is supposed to release this week, and so it has been delayed until next week. Just be patient and we all look forward to it together. If you want to buy runescape power leveling, this is your best choice.

Today the third entry in the development diary for the new dwarf quest will be released. This one deals with the move from the planning phase into implementation.

The design brief for the new dwarf quest is complete. This is the core design document of the project that defines all the important details of the new quest. The initial concept document said things like “there's a puzzle here involving such-and-such a thing”; the design brief defines exactly how the puzzles will work.

Creating the design brief involved a lot of back and forth between me, Mod Mark (RuneScape's lead designer) and our balancing expert. We agreed on the bulk of the document pretty quickly, but a few of the details took a bit of haggling to get worked out. This took a while, but it's important to get things right at the design brief stage, rather than trying to balance the project at the last minute.

With the design done, the project now moves into the implementation phase. This means I'll be writing the actual dialogue and code that'll make up the final quest. I'll also be working with the Graphics and Audio teams to begin work on the look and sound of the new quest.

Level requirements

Among the things decided at this stage of the project are the exact level requirements of the quest. In the last diary I said that they would probably be in the same range as those of Forgettable Tale, but Mod Mark has decided that they should be higher than that. I can now exclusively reveal the new quest's level requirements: • Level 41 Hunter. • Level 54 Firemaking. • Level 54 Strength. • Ability to defeat a level 100 enemy.
What could you have to do in a dwarf quest that involves Hunter, Firemaking andStrenqth? You may begin your wild speculations now. We're planning three new dwarf quests in total (this one plus two more), and their level requirements will get progressively harder so that the last one will be Grandmaster level, with requirements of around 70-75. I can't say anything specific about when we will release any of the quests, but we're not planning to leave as long a gap between instalments as there was before this one.

Please note that these level requirements are the ones we're planning now, but it's just possible that we'll need to change them for some reason while the quest is being developed. If we do change them, I'll let you know. Basically, everything I write here should be taken as a prediction rather than a promise.

Dwarf graphical rework

Some people on the forums have asked whether dwarves are going to get a graphical rework. We've discussed this and decided that we will be updating the dwarf NPCs with new graphics. However, this graphical update will be a separate project from the quest; I don't yet know whether it will be released along with the quest or at another time. To the right is our first piece of concept art - a new look for Commander Veldaban . This is only the initial concept and might change as we all discuss exactly how we want the dwarves to look.

Runescape-The Death of a Clan

I have been tossing the idea of this post around for a while now, but recently things have taken a turn for the worse. I see it in a general sense, and not just in the clans I am more involved in. It would appear that clans all over RS are in bad shape.Specifically, I am involved in GUILDS and the Roast Tribe. Sadly GUILDS has fallen form what it was to a crappy bickering little group.

There I set up weekly events as the Adventurers Guildmaster, and had a total of one participant in 3 months of events. Sadly they didn’t even bother to leave a reply on the thread, so I didn’t even bother hosting it. After a switching of forums that were too buggy to register on, I got replaced as the GM by another member who quit a month later. I can definitely say that it was a nice feeling to read about for the first time on the forums. I even mentioned that in a reply, but it appears that it was taken down. It would appear that no dissension in the ranks might be a moderated thing instead of a lack of dissension. That episode aside, in both Guilds and Roast there threads telling people to be active. I got a chuckle today from a Roast post demanding that people who don’t check the forums leave a reply. Hmmm. I wonder how they are going to do that. It also begs the question, is focusing on the people who don’t check even a remotely effective strategy anyway?

There was also this tipit times post. I was a member of this clan a few years ago, and do know Ts, but we haven’t talked in months. From his post it would appear that Tal Shiar is falling apart at the seams as well. *** For everyone who has made it so far, I wanted to mention a few of the reasons I believe that clans are going out of style in RS. First off, it is the long term gamers who usually are active and involved in RS. With the current updates, they are leaving in droves. Although the griefers, scammers, gold traders, and lurers were a stain, they did make certain aspects in the game more interesting. Rather than being stalked by a revnant, I would much rather be killed and told SDFU by a PKer and know that someone profited from my death than to just have to run away from a rev. Those guys all needed a system to function in outside of the game to ‘take care of business’ so to speak. Clan Chat is also a contributing factor. Why? It eliminates the need to get together in game. No need for a clan meeting to have a discussion. I know that 90% of the events I went to were because i wanted to ’see’ my friends, complement outfits, put a ‘face’ to a name, be surprised that a guy you though was high level was only level 12… etc
All in all, clans will have a continual decline in the game unless Jagex makes some major policy changes, and we all have a much better chance of playing pick up stix with out butt cheeks than we do of them changing their stance.

Runescape-Anti-RSBOTS-RSleveling-com-News

Runescape is a Persistent Online RPG. The biggest characteristic is that we don't need to download it and install it. We can play it on website(only install a java Plug-in automatically). The image quality of this game is not good as warhammer or age of conan, but it can't affect the game running system and market system. We are always enjoy the combat and skill rank system.

Jagex has always had a smear campaign against autoing/macroing/botting. Most players listen to them and their warnings of “If you do it, we will catch you, and you will be banned.” Out of fear for their precious accounts, people don’t even look for cheats. We are ont using cheating power leveling for customers.

I want to tell you otherwise.

I have played RuneScape for roughly 4 years. It will be 5 this June, not counting the breaks I have taken. For most of those 4 years, I was the model player. I reported players when I thought it was neccessary, I didn’t break rules (except swearing, but hey, that’s been lifted a bit) and most of all, I didn’t bot. RuneScape was never really boring. I was a member for most of the time, and so I had plenty to do. RuneScape was good I enjoy it. There are many different high-level monsters in RuneScape. Do you wish you could try your luck at hunting down and killing one of these dreaded beasts, but were afraid to try without some kind of inside help? Well fear not, intrepid warrior, help is available.

THE importance of the gaming industry to the Cambridge area was underlined by Jagex Software winning Business of the Year in the Cambridge News Business Excellence Awards 2009. Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard and founder Andrew Gower, with Paul Cullen, from sponsor Price Bailey, and Kate Adie at the Cambridge News Business Excellence Awards 2009The firm, based on the Science Park and Business Park, personifies the idea of the from-nowhere-to-world-domination games company thanks to RuneScape, which entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the "most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game" (MMORPG) last year.

Woodcutting is a skill used to chop logs from trees. These logs may be used for firemaking, fletching, or possibly construction. Simply click on a tree to chop it down. However, you will need to have the necessary hatchet in your inventory and a minimum woodcutting level.
If you are just starting out in Woodcutting you may want to pay a visit to Wilfred the Woodcutting Tutor just south of the furnace near Lumbridge Castle to learn about the different kinds of trees and hatchets. He will give you a free Bronze hatchet and Tinderbox if you lose yours.

A huge 3D adventure, it tasks players with slaying monsters, completing quests and finding treasure. Jagex was founded in 2001 by Cambridge University graduate Andrew Gower, with help from his brother Paul, and colleague Constant Tedder was installed as CEO. The firm had 5,000 subscriptions within a week of launching RuneScape on a pay-to-play platform, easily covering its costs for the whole of its first year. By 2007, the game had six million active free subscribers and one million pay-to-play subscribers, earning it the record. Jagex now employs 400 people directly in games development. This represents 5 per cent of all UK games developers and 50 per cent of those in Cambridge - easily outstripping Sony and Frontier Silicon.

The Gower brothers, who have a 52 per cent stake in Jagex, have been propelled into the Sunday Times Rich List with a fortune estimated at £112m. They are still involved in the firm on the content and technical side, leaving the day-to-day management in the hands of Mark Gerhard. A scene from RuneScapeJagex's RuneScape and FunOrb - a games portal - remain hugely popular and a new MMORPG is expected this year. Meanwhile, RuneScape remains by far the most successful example of the genre ever produced. Last week I blogged a little newsbite from the Netherlands, where the case of theft of virtual goods was laid before the court in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. As expected, the court has reached a virdict and has sentenced two boys to conditional detention and civil services because of the virtual theft from the game Runescape.

On September 6 last year the boys from Leeuwarden, at the time both 14 years old, forced a thirteen-year-old victim to hand over virtual goods, a mask and an amulet, and to transfer the items to their account. The thirteen year old had collected a large amount of credits with which artifacts could be purchased. The boys forced him to a house and there he was kicked and threatened with a knife, until he transferred the goods and credits..

Community Service The lawyers argued during the meeting that virtual goods do not really exist, and transferring it does not conflict with the rules of the game, but the court thought otherwise. The court charged one boy with 160 hours community service and 1 month of conditional youth detention, where the second received a sentence of 200 hours of community service and two months probation. a month conditional jeugddetentie, the other 200 hours of labor and two months conditional detention. The prosecution had demanded 180 hours of service and 1 month detention with a 2 year probation.

Important precedent Christiaan Alberdingk Thijm of SOLV Lawyers considers it an important ruling. He had been convinced that virtual theft should be punishable prior to the lawsuit. "It is a confirmation of standards which we find perfectly normal in the physical world, but still had no legal framework in the virtual world . Of course the use of physical violence played an important part in the ruling, as well as the fact that both boys showed no repentance. " Alberdingk Thijm expects the verdict will have a broad impact. In the past it has already been determined that electricity is a good, but not software. Virtual furniture are now in any case under the definition of a good, hence can be prosecuted under normal civil law and also concepts like fencing, computer misuse and destruction may be applied to virtual worlds or games.

Hatchets are the primary tool for woodcutting. I have my Santa suit that I had collected from the Christmas event last year and I thought I would buy a Santa Hat to finish it off, I watched the price on GE and the price had dropped to just below 13m and had remained stable for the last month and probably longer, I decide to try and buy at bottom, I left if for a week but no joy so put the price to normal and bought it straight away.

I had my Santa Suit and Santa Hat with blue Samurai hair, didn't quite look the part so I went to Fally to get a cut and colour, white beard and long hair was the order of the day and woot did I look good, I really was Santa at the start of summer, as normal when I skill I wore a ring of life just in case and started to train my summoning dressed as Santa Clause, I just carried on training with no comment from anyone, but I will be wearing it for a bit longer and anticipate a few comments.

The Windows downloadable client is a lightweight application designed specifically for RuneScape. It uses less memory and desktop screen space than a conventional browser, and is therefore ideal for low-end machines. The latest version includes the following enhancements:

Language Aware – will choose the correct language region based on your computer’s settings Better compatibility with low-end machines Features a smart new icon

Buying when the price was low was a good move financially, It would mean my chance of making a profit when selling later would be increased, the thing is I don't really care if the price drops to 1m, I bought it for fun and I will wear it even if the price shoots up until I have had enough of it

You don't see many people wearing full Santa in the summer, I also wear chicken feet when I wear my full Armadyl just so I look the part, the fun part of me takes over in Runescape, I have always trained what I want to do, never forced into something to get a cape for the sake of a cape, taking on the kbd in full bronze has some interesting results.

If you play for fun and see Money/levels as a by product then Runescape becomes less of a chore, If you die and lose your armour who cares save up again and buy it back, if you have had it once you can get it again.

But how about your sleep time ? we can do it for you.

September 30, 2008 - Consisting of humble but sturdy gray stone buildings Lumbridge is a quiet community ruled by Duke Horatio from an impressive castle that has protected it for generations. Located on the River Lum, its economy is primarily based on agriculture. Just to the north, many citizens work their farms to produce grain, which the town's windmill grinds into flour for much of the nearby environs. Farther in that direction is Varrock, the capital of Misthalin, where King Roald resides. Heading west leads to Draynor village. A gloomy swamp lies southward, its twisted mangrove trees adding to the overall dreariness. Those who choose to travel east will find a tollgate to a major desert settlement, Al Kharid. Before departing at all, however, it's worth your while to look around. You'll probably want to obtain some training, and perhaps a decent weapon too.

Jagex' RuneScape, takes place within the fantasy-themed world of Gielinor, where Lumbridge is the first town new arrivals see. Despite very little exposure in game publications, the java-based massively multiplayer title has attained truly exceptional popularity; with about a million paying accounts, it's usually ranked second among subscription offerings. Actually, the user base is much larger since another five million are said to be active at least every couple of weeks on a free to play basis. We've been watching the project for a fair number of years, since not long after beta began in 2001. So, when the company became more receptive to interviews after the release of a High Detail version this summer, we were quick to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about this intriguing endeavor by putting a set of questions to the team.

Jonric: How would you introduce RuneScape to an online gamer who knows nothing about it except perhaps the name? Adam Tuckwell: RuneScape is a massively multiplayer online game set in a fantasy world of warring races, ravaged landscapes and sinister powers. Having chosen an adventurer, players are free to find their respective roles within it: to live by the sword and face hundreds of enemies, to further the storyline in the quests, or to train in any of a number of skills. It is like your typical fantasy MMO, but with tons of content. First, we launched RuneScape HD this summer, with significantly enhanced graphics that have taken the visuals to a new level. Second, we are updating the content constantly; every two weeks, there is something new. There are lots of skill need power leveling when you are playing, there's part time power leveling on the www.rsleveling.com. when you are sleeping and working(studying), we can do the boring power leveling for you. As Real World Economy retreats, so does Membership and P2P items GRAND EXCHANGE, VARROCK, WORLD 2- It was just 1 year ago that the life of a P2P player seemed perfect. Cash was flowing freely, and member items were stable. And with the creation of the Grand Exchange, the wealth of investors soared tremendously. Now, both Members and Free Players are bracing for a serious shock to hit the Exchange market. Most are expecting many member objects to crash, and many F2P objects to rise. Why? It’s simple: Less members are subscribed currently, meaning less members are buying. Some players have even cut their Internet subscription. This creates less demand, and a possible massive shock to the RuneScape Economy. There have always been more Free-to-Play players than members, meaning that some items are more valuable if they are Free-to-Play. For example, players will pay almost 10 times the amount of a Dragon weapon for a Corrupt Dragon weapon that degrades. Why? Because Corrupt Dragon is Free-to- Play, but plain Dragon isn’t. However, with even less members placing orders in the Grand Exchange, we might well see prices sink incredibly for member objects. But with Non-member objects, investors are holding their breath, hoping for an increase in valuable Free-to-Play items like swordfish, lobster, etc. These will become the Manta Ray and Shark of RuneScape, as members switch to Free-to-Play worlds. Other items that require to be made or aquired in Member worlds may also rise, such as Green Dragonhide. Wealth has also been decreasing for members, as they either cannot make money on Members’ servers or cannot sell their items for higher prices. One former member, Hulpul, commented on the matter. “My membership expired about a week and a half ago,” says Mr. Hulpul. “I just didn’t want to renew it. When I was a member, though, I made my 1 million gold in about 3 days off of slaying dragons. Now, I pretty much can’t do anything as profitable.” What this RuneScape millionaire says is true. Very few things in Free-to-Play worlds are as profitable as things in member worlds. A drop in total wealth is expected greatly. However, many players doubt that membership decreases will harm the RuneScape economy. One player, Blaze1982, claims that General Stores and monster drops will keep the Economy afloat. For instance, Rune Platebodies and Green Dragonhide Armour may be obtained from Oziarch, who has an unlimited supply. The same goes with arrows, which can be bought from a range store. But whether or not these unlimited general stores are a lifeline to the RuneScape economy entirely depends upon whether or not players buy or sell on the Grand Exchange. Most players do all their shopping a

Robots-don-t-get-Carpal-Tunnel-RSleveling-News

Runescape is a large MMORPG. Also the power leveling, you can search the runescape power leveling on google, it is still the second large MMORPG which needs power leveling. You can search the runescape account, it is still the second largest account saled game. Jagex has always had a smear campaign against autoing/macroing/botting. Most players listen to them and their warnings of “If you do it, we will catch you, and you will be banned.” Out of fear for their precious accounts, people don’t even look for cheats. RuneScape was good. Shortly before 2008 breathed its last breath, I re-kindled a friendship with an old mate. He introduced me to sites such as Sythe and Fagex, and taught me the art of scamming. Together we scammed two accounts, and several membership PINs. Sythe and Fagex also have a RSBot section, and I looked through it and eventually downloaded RSBot. I wish I had done it sooner. RSBot is easily the best thing I have done in my RuneScape career. I am botting right now! Jagex claims they will find you, and yet in 3+ months of near constant botting, I have not been warned nor banned. As the title proclaims, robots don’t get Carpal Tunnel. If RuneScape is getting boring, you can do what I always did, and take a break. Alternatively, you can take the step and get RSBot. You will never be the same. Otter, What website did you download it off of? I know that some sites deliberately make their program recognizable to get you banned, so you must have chosen one of the few authentic bot sites. You are correct in assuming that it is extremely unlikely for Jagex to detect a bot using computer software, as usually the bot is in your computer, not the RS system. However, Moderators are always on the lookout for botters, so be careful. They may ask you questions. I got RSBot off of the official site, RSBot.org. I’m not worried about Moderators. I’ve seen maybe 10 total during the 5 years I’ve played, and all of them were P2P moderators. I don’t think they ’d bother look at me in F2P. However, because you are only allowed 28 slots for items, the bank offers some extra space for your items. This can come in handy if you want to keep some valuable items. If you die, you will only be able to keep three of your best items on you at the time, unless you have the prayer that allows you to keep one extra item. Even if you do keep one extra, that's still only 4 out of 28. When you bank your items, you protect them from being lost.

You can also store up items that are not normally stackable. For example, if you mine 28 rune essences, then you bank them, they are not going to take up 28 slots in the bank, instead they will take up one slot and stack up. Any item can be stacked in the bank, from Bronze Bars to Dragon Long Swords. This is good because Free to Play members do not have hundreds of slots like the Pay to Play members do. Free to Play does not have nearly as many items though, so they do not need all that space.

Speaking of stackables, you can also withdraw items in "noted" form. This allows your non-stackable items to stack up in your inventory as notes. This is helpful when selling mass quantities of items. Instead of having to make loads of trips to the Grand Exchange, you can make one with all your items noted. If you buy items and they are noted, you can put them into the bank, and withdraw them again (without the noted symbol checked), and you will have the actual items. Noted Items are a great addition to the Runescape Banks, and they help so much with buying and selling.

Now, if you are worried about your account being hacked, you can always make a Bank Pin number. Your Bank Pin number is a four-digit code of your choice that you have to enter when you access your bank account for the first time after logging in. This is also an excellent addition to the Runescape Banks, because it protects your items even if your DO get hacked. If you are worried about key loggers stealing your Bank Pin, worry no longer. The Bank Pin system is built so that each time a number is entered, the key pad arrangement changes. This is so if you do get a key logger, they still cannot get your Bank Pin number.

As you can see, Runescape Banks offer players many different options to help them. As an added bonus, they have now added tabs to the banks. These can be used to organize your bank so you do not have to search through all of your items to find just one. If you thought that the Runescape Banking system was just for storing items, I bet this was a big surprise to you. Runescape Banks are very easy to use, even with all of the fancy additions. I cannot wait to see what Jagex is going to put in next. Haha, Happy Banking!

In fact there are so many different items it’s sometimes hard to keep track of them all. This is why we are introducing the pre-purchase advice tool. Before you buy anything – from a shop, at the Grand Exchange, or from another player – you can now check out what the bonuses of the item are, and, in the case of worn items, whether there are any restrictions that might prevent you from wearing them. You can use this tool to find out what skills you need to train, and what quests you need to complete, to use a particular item.

Those of you who are in possession of a dragon platebody will see that it has undergone a graphical overhaul, as requested by you on the forums.

Next, we have made a change to the equipped inventory screen for Ranged weapons, so now you can see the ranged strength of weapons like javelins, arrows and crossbow bolts.

The fourth upgrade for this week will save you valuable seconds in times of need. The Prayer button near the minimap has undergone an overhaul so you can now set a prayer, or group of prayers, before you go into action, and activate or de-activate it with one click. The button will also indicate the loss of Prayer points by gradually fading out – similar to the behaviour of the Hitpoints button. This should help prevent you accidentally running out of Prayer points, and finding yourself suddenly vulnerable to attack.

As you may know, we recently made some changes to the Culinaromancer’s chest in Lumbridge and the gnome cuisine fruit ‘n’ veg shop in the Grand Tree. We have now reconsidered these changes, and have decided to implement a different approach: we have returned the shops’ stock prices to their former state, and have removed the option to sell stock back to those shops.

Finally, we’ve taken on board the feedback you gave us about last month’s quest list improvement, and made changes in response to some common issues. New text makes it clear when not all quests are shown, but the best improvements are behind the scenes: the options you set before you log out will be there again when you return, and we have greatly reduced the delay involved in switching the list between quests and achievements.
